One of the major complaints I hear about the Civil 3D survey database is the lack of EASY functionality to move your points. This really goes against the whole concept of the survey database, but oftentimes the office crew wants to just manually “tweak” a point rather than sending a very expensive field crew out into the field. Well, in Civil 3D 2008, you can do this. I’ll tell you how after the jump.

If you have spent any time in Panorama, you know
how easy it is to drag and drop columns, or make them go away. The only problem is that changes get undone next time you roll into to same view. Welcome to 2008.Â
This nifty little dialog can be accessed by right-clicking on any column header in panorama and selecting “Customize Views” By creating saved views for various tasks you can see what you need to see and nothing more. A nice little addition in my book.
Oh, and of course, the pipes guys forgot to implement this in their Pipe and Structure tabs. The one place I really wanted it.
